  • Bills and Amendments - All Bills, Constitutional Amendments, and Joint Resolutions made available as soon after their introduction as possible, usually the day after any action is taken.
  • Files - One daily for each House. Outlines the business to be performed on a given day, including advance notice of committee hearings.
  • Histories-Daily - Dated for the previous day. Shows the action taken on the Bills on the Senate and Assembly floors or in committee. One printed for each house. Each new daily supersedes the last.
  • Histories-Weekly - Published at the close of each week, one for each House. Shows all measures introduced during the session, together with all the actions taken thereon and the dates of each action. Contains names of the members of each House, their committee assignments, and other information pertinent to the Legislature.
  • Journals - Contains an account of the proceedings of each house, the titles of all measures introduced, considered or acted upon by each House, roll calls upon all actions requiring recorded vote, messages from the Governor and the other House, and other such matters. Published daily for the previous day.
  • Index - Published periodically, contains all Bills currently in print, listed by subject matter.
  • Table of Sections - Refers to specific section numbers of the California Codes (Government, Health & Safety, Vehicle, etc.) to determine if any recent laws have or will affect certain sections of the codes.
  • Enrolled Bills - Bills passed by both Houses which will go to the Governor to be signed. Last amended version is encased in a cover with space for signatures.
  • Chaptered Bills - Bills that have been approved by the Governor and given a chapter number by the Secretary of State, distinguishing them as law.
